Parish Council

2018-2019 Parish Pastoral Council

Michelle Johnson, Chair

As a relatively new member to St. Michael’s and Parish Council, I have felt welcomed from the beginning. I have three grown children who attended Regina Coeli and St. Thomas Aquinas schools, all of whom live in southern states. As a second year member of Parish Council, I have been blessed to quickly learn more about the parish and all it has to offer. Over the next few years I hope to become more active in parish life while inviting others to learn more about our parish and our Catholic beliefs. I hope to bring some of my experiences from previous parishes and community activities to St. Michael’s as we all continue to grow in both our faith and community members.

I have been a faithful parishioner of St. Michael's since 2015, when my wife May and I, along with our children Katie and Jacob, went through the RCIA process.  In addition to serving on Parish Council, I am also on the Welcome Committee and am a Lector.  I work as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual, and during my time away from Church and work I enjoy traveling, supporting my kids' sports and scouting activities, and spending time with our beagles Elvis and Priscilla.

I have been a member of St. Michael’s Church all my life, and it has been instrumental in my faith development. I received the sacraments at St. Michael's, attended the Parish School of Religion (now called Families Growing in Faith), was active in Life Teen, have been an altar server, and presently am a Eucharist minister.  I am excited about the privilege to be serving our parish community as a part of the Parish Council. I am a recent graduate of the University of Akron and work as an electrical engineer for Graco Inc, a local company. I am part of their applied fluid technology division which designs and manufactures equipment used to pump a solid, liquid or gas.  During my free time, I enjoy umpiring softball and refereeing football games. When I am not officiating, I enjoy watching our local sports teams, the Indians, the Cavaliers, the Browns, the Blue Jackets, the Crew and Ohio State. I also enjoy join spending time with friends and family.
